FRIDAY JANUARY 18TH 2019: Leading lights in the Irish Manufacturing sector descended on Citywest Convention Centre last Thursday 17th January for the National Manufacturing and Supply Chain Conference and Exhibition, where a 6000 strong audience were captivated by the speakers who revealed their top secrets, confessions and the do’s and don’ts that have helped them achieve their business success.
Finalists in the Manufacturing and Supply Chain Awards attended a gala dinner hosted by Newstalk’s Vincent Wall later that evening. The awards are designed to identify, recognise and reward Irish companies and individuals that have distinguished themselves in the conduct of their business over the last 12 months. Briody Bedding Ltd was awarded Health & Safety Initiative of the Year for their significant investment in reducing incidents of Manual Handling for staff on the plant floor.
In response to the announcement David Briody, Director said “On behalf of Briody Bedding Ltd I would like to express our pride on receiving this accolade. We place great emphasis on the health and safety of our staff and are delighted to have this recognised at national level. Credit must go to our Health & Safety Manager, Barry Kevin, for his vision and implementation of the project and to all staff members for fully embracing the initiative from the beginning.”
The award follows a very successful run for Briody Bedding having been named Manufacturer of the Year at the Meath Business Awards 2016, All-Ireland All Star Family Run Business of the Year 2017, Manufacturer of the Year and Overall Small Company of the Year at the 2018 Small Firms Association Awards in addition to being Accredited All Star Brand Ambassador at last year’s All-Ireland Business Summit in Dublin.
