At Briody we acknowledge that our business has an impact on the environment and have actively pursued ways to minimise these. Timber is sourced from sustainable forestry. Sawdust & off-cuts are collected and used to heat our facilities as well as to aid drying in our spray area. All plastic and cardboard packaging is baled on site and recycled helping reduce our contribution to landfill significantly. We invest and upgrade our delivery fleet regularly ensuring we have the lowest possible emissions on the road. But we know there is always more we can do and so we are delighted to launch our 'Perfect Balance' collection of mattresses using REPREVE fabric! REPREVE use plastic gathered from our oceans and recycle it into a reliable, durable fibre used in clothing & now mattress fabrics.
As we approach the date our Government has set out for easing of restrictions, we are all too aware that others around the world are not so fortunate. Access to safe, free and life saving vaccines, not just for the current Covid 19 pandemic, is not standard across the globe which is why we at Briody support the UNICEF campaign 'Get a vaccine, give a vaccine'. For every staff member we have, we have made a donation of a vaccine to UNIFEC because, as the health experts have told us, nobody is safe until everyone is safe' Please watch the video below for further information on the campaign
What an amazing day yesterday was! Congratulations to Robert Caffrey, Laurence Briody, Martin Briody, Brian Sheridan, Ashling Kerrigan, Noel Walmsley & Norman Coyle who all completed the gruelling course. To every other team member who set their own personal goals, (and smashed them!) thank you and & a massive well done on your achievement! Above all the Moylagh JFK 50 Mile Challenge is about raising money for cancer services in Ireland. Sincere thanks to everyone who has donated so far & we look forward to announcing our team's amount over the next couple of weeks. Our donation page is still live so if you haven't already please do drop us a euro or two! Finally to the organisers & volunteers for the event - there are no words to describe what you have achieved for the 8th year running. You exceed expectations year after year
